有很多可能成为企业家的人，他们其中一些人有开创或购买一家企业的梦想，但似乎总能找到按兵不动的借口。他们未能开办企业的理由听起来似乎令人信服，但事实上没有一条真正经得起仔细推敲。

   在这些借口中，位居首位的往往是缺乏资本。这有许多解决办法。我在18岁时所做的第一笔生意，是与牛津大学(Oxford)夜总会成立一家合资企业。我和学生朋友们在夜总会筹划主题夜晚，并获得门票收入，而会场老板则保留吧台商品的销售收入。这种做法根本不需要资本――这总是绝对新手创业的最佳方式。

    其它情况可能需要一些钱，但通常没有创业者想象的那么多。我常常被头一回开饭店的人打动，他们似乎是靠小本经营起家的――使用二手设备，自己动手做翻新等事情。

    如果你一生的梦想取决于此，大多数事情就能节俭地完成。即使是目前有股权支持的情况下也是如此。对于一个不错的项目，现在有各种类型的机构和私人资金来源――从政府机构到天使投资者。利用这些融资来源从来都不是一件容易的事情，因此你要做好――并且要坚持不懈。星巴克(Starbucks)创始人霍华德?舒尔茨(HowardSchultz)为了筹集初期资金，以全面启动自己的咖啡连锁店，做了逾250场演讲。

    第二个想象中的障碍是收入问题：人们沉溺于作为雇员获得安全、丰厚的薪水，不愿意为了无法确定的创业生活而放弃。的确，大多数给自己打工的人，挣得不如为别人工作时多，而且工作时间可能更长。但他们这么做是出于创业带来的自由度和成就感――也是因为他们拒绝放弃自己的希望。

    当我20岁出头的时候，我很少休假――当我不为其他人工作时，就在周末和假期做些副业――直到我感觉最终能够冲破藩篱，成为一名全职的创业者。从某种意义上来说，我希望自己不曾耽误，而是直接大学毕业就自己创业。

    我承认，有些人有沉重的家庭负担――抵押贷款、家庭责任等等。但任何真正值得拥有的东西都需要做出牺牲――你希望拒绝自己的机会，过一种抱憾的生活吗？目前许多人面临着裁员，因此不管怎么样，你可能不会有任何薪水进账――那你还能失去什么呢？

    第三个理由，是太多的想要成为创业家的人正等着某天冒出来的突破性想法，完全成形并随时可以实施。但资本主义并非如此。

    大多数新企业做的事情和许多其它企业相当类似――他们提供熟悉的服务或产品，满足明确的需求――或许不断地予以改进。

    你不需要惊天动地的发明来获得成功。

    这种成功非常罕见，通常在巨大的悲痛后才会取得。你要的是一种能迅速产生销售收入和现金的好主意，运用你本已拥有的技能和掌握的经济学，服务于一个已知的市场。

第四个理由是避险心理。太多的人对失败的担心胜过了对成功的渴望。当然，你的初创企业可能最终是一次徒劳无功的尝试，因此你或许会损失金钱、时间和自尊。但实际上，2009年是绝佳的失败时期。我们周围所有的Cye.com.cn企业和机构――包括许多世界上最大、最重要的公司――都出了问题。每一位取得很大成就的人也遭受了挫折。你知道吗？没有人真正注意或在意。正如孔子所言：“人生最大的光荣不在于从不失败，而在于每次跌倒后能够站起来。”

   我预计，那些有着足够的勇气相信未来、足够的精力只争朝夕、足够的乐观拒绝失败的人们，将在未来一两年内创立许多伟大的企业。

    永远不存在开始这种旅程的最佳时机。但如果你有抱负，并且愿意付诸努力，并不再寻找借口的话――走出去，开始打拼吧！（完）
